ASE to Invest NT$92.7 Billion in Taiwan
September 25, 2013

Considering Taiwan's high quality manpower and incentive policies provided by the government, ASE plans to expand its investment in Taiwan from the original amount of NT$73.4 billion to NT$92.7 billion (US$3.14 billion; US$1=NT$29.569), expecting to create over 10,000 job opportunities in five years, according to the Economic Daily News on September 25. Aside from its current facilities in Chungli, Kaohsiung, and Nantou, ASE is reportedly evaluating the possibility to build a fourth production base in Linkou District, New Taipei City, focusing on high-end packaging and testing services. ASE's capital expenditure is estimated to reach US$600-800 million this year, and will maintain a similar level at US$700-800 million in 2014.
